  7. Three interesting things that I have learned during our study of the United Kingdom are about the Union Jack, the Constitutional Monarchy, and the Parliament. I liked the Union Jack because of the way it went through so many changes and the way that it looks today. I liked the Constitutional Monarchy because of the way that the queen only serves as a figure head. I liked the Parliament because of the way they make the laws instead of the queen.

  8. Three interesting things I have learned about studying the United Kingdom are:
1.The U.K.'s flag is made up of 3 country's flags. They use the flags of England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
2.I liked learning about the government. The prime minister can propose new laws, but only Parliment can make them official. The queen is just a symbol. She can make laws, but then again, only Parliment can put them in action.
3.Scotland and Wales are very rough, mountain covered countries, with some moores.Poor soil and a cold climate make farming very difficult. So many people herd sheep.England on the other hand has very rich, fertile plains.(The Northern European Plain stretches here.)

  12. Three things that interest me about the UK is that Wales was not always a independent country. Wales also has many famous people like Larua Ashley who is a famous fashion designer and Sir George Everist who is a famous traveler and explorer. There is a mountain named after him. Also in Wales i would like to see the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. It has the capacity for 74,500 people and is the first stadium in the UK to feature a retractable roof. That would be cool. There are a lot of other things to see to be they are the things i think are most interesting to me.

I also learned that the British have a different and more interesting, in my opinion, government than the US. They elect a PM from the Parliament and limit the powers of the King or Queen to ceremonial duties. They also have the abilty to overthrow the King.

Another thing I learned is that Britain has beautiful scenery, and is a pretty nice place. Also, they have a pretty dense population and their flag is called a Union Jack

  50. I have learned many things in Social Studies about the United Kingdom. The topic that I found most interesting was what people eat in England, and how they are diferent and similar to what we eat in America. Three interesting facts about this are, firstly, that a typical english breakfast consists of eggs, bacon, sausages, fried bread, mushrooms, and baked beans. More traditional englishmen might prefer some black pudding for breakfast instead. Black pudding is made of sausage, with pigs fat and dried pigs blood. Secondly, for lunch, someone in England might have fish and chips. Fish and chips is fish ( usually cod or haddock) deep fried in a flour based batter and is served with chips, which are in America called "french fries". Thirdly, a popular dinner selection in England is roast meats. Typical meats used for roasting are: beef, pork, chicken, lamb, duck, goose, and gammon. With this meat, bubble and squeak might be served. This is cold vegetables chopped and fried together. The name "bubble and squeak" are named after the sound the vegetables make while frying.
