Newton's Second Law

You notice that if you push a empty shopping cart and a full shopping cart with equal force, the empty shopping cart has a greater acceleration. Use Newton's second law to explain why the empty shopping cart has a greater acceleration than the full shopping cart.

  1. It would be easier to push the empty shopping cart. The empty shopping cart would have the greater acceleration because it has less mass. It would be harder to push the full shopping cart because it has the greatest mass.

  2. The empty shopping cart has a greater acceleration than the full one becuase of their mass. This relates to Newton's 2nd law. This law states that the greater the force, the greater the acceleration and the greater the mass the acceleration decreases. So, since the full shopping cart had more mass, it had less acceleration than the other shopping cart.

  3. The empty shoping cart is easy to push because it has less mass. When something has more mass it is harder to push. With all the food and other stuff in there the gravity is pushing down on the stuff and it is harder to push.

  4. The empty shopping cart has greater accelercation because the empty shopping cart has less mass than the full shopping cart.

  5. The empty shopping cart has greater acceleration because it has less mass. The less mass an object has, the greater acceleration it has. Everyone knows Newton's Second the Law without even having learned the law. Each and everyone of us know that the heavier an object is, the more force it takes to push the object. If you are pushing a shopping cart, it would be easier to push it when it is empty than when it is full.

  6. Newton’s second law stated that acceleration on an object with increases with increased force and decreases with increased mass. So if you increase force you increase the acceleration of and the greater the mass a decrease in acceleration. The greater the mass of the object being accelerated the greater the amount of force needed to accelerate the object. So more mass means more force needed to accelerate. So it is easier to push the empty shopping cart because there is less mass and it is harder to push the full shopping cart because it has more mass.

  7. Newton's Second Law explains this because and object with greater mass takes more force to accelerate and an object with less mass will not take as much force as an object with greater mass would to reach the same speed.

  8. Newton's second law says "Objects with less mass require less force to move them and objects with more mass require more force to move them." Since the empty shopping cart has less mass it requires less force to move and has greater acceleration.

  9. The empty shopping cart has more acceleration because it has less mass/weighs less. If an object is heavier, or has more mass, it is harder to push. Newton's second law states that the acceleration on an object increases with increased force and decreases with decreased force. If you pushed the full shopping cart with a greater force, its acceleration would increase.

  10. Newton’s second law is that acceleration in an object increases with increased force, and decreases with increased mass. So if you push a empty shopping cart and a full shopping cart the empty shopping cart will have a greater acceleration, because it is less massive then the full shopping cart.

  11. The empty shopping cart ahs a greater acceleration then the full shopping cart. Newton’s second law states that the greater that force, the greater the acceleration. It also states that the more mass that you have the more force needed to accelerate. So, since that empty shopping cart has less mass then the full one, it takes less mass to accelerate the empty one.

The empty shopping cart has the greater acceleration because it has less mass. You would need a greater amount of force to push the full shopping cart at the same speed as the empty shopping cart because more force is needed to push an object with a greater mass.

The empty cart moves faster then the full cart because it as less mass. This causes the empty cart to accelerate faster then the full cart because of the mass. This is what I think happening between the 2 carts. Because of Newton, I understand acceleration and scince more than I did.

  14. An empty shopping cart has greater acceleration than a full shopping cart because an empty shopping cart has less mass than the full shopping cart. More force->acceleration.
    More mass <-acceleration.

  15. Newton's second law states that an object with greater mass and an object with less mass will have different acceleration. So the shopping cart that has more grocies (greater mass) will have a less acceleration than the empty shopping cart (less mass) .

  16. Newton's second law states that the greater mass an object has, the more acceleration it will nedd to move; the less amount of mass an object has, the less acceleration it will need to move. So, if two shopping carts with different masses are pushed with the same force, the one with the less mass will go further. This happenes because it has less mass than the more massive cart so it will go further even with the same force applied.

  17. The empty cart goes faster or has greater acceleration because the empty cart has less mass. Since the full cart is more massive it needs more force to be pushed. If two people push each cart with the same amount of force, the empty cart will always accelerate more.

  18. The empty shopping cart will have a greater acceleration because it has less mass then the full shopping cart.

  19. Newton’s second law tells us that with an increase of force, acceleration increases, and with an increase of mass, acceleration decreases. This, of course, means that an object with more mass will have less acceleration. The full shopping cart will have less acceleration than the empty one if you pushed them with equal force. Newton’s second law, and the principles I have just elaborated on explain this.

  20. The empty shopping cart will go faster than the full shopping cart because the full shopping cart has more mass than the empty one so when you push it the empty one has nothing weighting it down but the shopping cart does because of all the things that were in it. This means that things with greater mass have less speed when you push it and things with less mass have greater speed when you push it.

  21. The full Shoping cart has more weight (mass)so it will be harder to push than a empty one because the empty one has much less weight than the full shopping cart.

  22. Newton's second law states that the greater the mass the greater amount of force needed to push that object. The empty shopping cart accelerated faster because it is less massive. A full shopping cart has a much greater mass then an empty shopping cart, so it would take more force to push it.

  23. The empyt shopping cart has greater acceleration because when you push the empty shopping cart it whould be easier. When the shopping cart is full it is harder to push because it has less acceleration. The shopping cart that is empty is easy to push because it is not full. When you start to put something in the cart then it would start to get heavier and harder.

  24. Newton's Second Law states that the acceleration on an object increases with increased force and decreases with increased mass. The greater the mass ( of the object being accelerated ) the greater the amount of force needed ( to accelerate the object ). So, since the full shopping cart has greater mass than the empty shopping cart, that means that it will need a greater amount of force to accelerate the object.

  25. Newton's Second Law of Motion states that "when an object is acted on by an outside force, the strength of the force equals the mass of the object times the resulting acceleration". In other words, the formula to use in calculating force is force=mass x acceleration. Opposing forces such as friction can be added or subtracted from the total to find the amount of force that was really used in a situation.

  26. The full shopping cart has mor mass than the empty shopping cart. Therefor, the empty shopping cart has a greater acceleration. Like Newton's second law says "The acceleration of an object decraeses as the mass increases and the acceleration of an object increases as the mass decreases. That is why an empty shopping cart tends to have a greater acceleration.

  27. Newton's second law states that the acceleration on an object increases with increased forced and decreases with increased mass. So a full shopping cart will need a harder force for it to be moved or pushed because of how much mass it holds. I asked my mom and she said that " When I am at the food store, I become very tired of pushing the shopping cart all around because it has more mass which means it will be harder to push the cart."

  28. Newton’s Second Law states that the acceleration on an object increases with increased force and decreases with increased mass. With that being said, the reason why the empty shopping cart has greater acceleration than the full shopping cart is because, as Newton said, the acceleration on an object decreases with increased mass, so it is easier to push the empty shopping cart than to push the full one.

  29. Newton’s second law states that the relationship between an object’s mass its acceleration and the applied force. Acceleration and force are vectors in this law. The direction of the force are the same as the direction of the acceleration. The empty shopping cart has greater acceleration because it has less mass so it is easier to push. The shopping cart that is full needs more force because it takes up more mass.

  30. Newtons second law states that the accleration of an object increases with increased force and decreases with increased mass. The empty shopping cart will have a greater accleration because there is less mass in the empty shopping cart than the one that is full. The shopping cart goes faster than the one that is full because the accleration increases with increased force and decreases with increased mass.

  31. An object with a greater mass aquires more force than the objkect with less mass. If you were to put an equal amount of mass on each, the shopping cart with more mass would go slower than the shopping cart with less mass.

  32. The empty shopping cart has greater accerleration than the full shopping cart because the full shopping cart has more mass than the empty shopping cart. Sir Issac Newton's second law states that if an object increases its mass [in this case the full shopping cart], then more force is needed to accelerate the object [the shopping cart]. The grocery items add mass to the shopping cart, opposed to the empty shopping cart which doesn't have any added mass. This law is true in many types of scenarios. One being a bowling ball and a soccer ball. The soccer ball would be easier to kick because it has less mass than the bowling ball. Mass is measured in kilograms.

  33. The reason why empty shopping cart has greater acceleration is because it has less mass. When you have a shopping cart full of stuff it has less acceleration. The reason is because it has more mass. More mss means more force is needed to accelerate.

  34. Newton's Second Law states that the acceleration on an object increases with increased force and decreases with increased mass. Acceleration of an object depends on two things- the mass of the object, and the size of the force applied to the object. When pushed with an equal force, an empty shopping cart has a greater acceleration than a full cart because it has less mass.

  35. The shopping cart full of things has more mass then the shopping cart with nothing in it. So it has less accleration then the shopping cart with nothing in it. The shopping cart with nothing in it does not have as much mass as the shopping cart with a lot of things in it.

  36. Newton's Second Law states that the acceleration on an object increases with increased force and decreases with increased mass. The empty shopping cart has a greater acceleration than the full shopping cart because the empty shopping cart has less mass then the full shopping cart. This is because the more you put in the shopping cart the greater the mass is going to be and the less that is in your shopping cart the less the mass is going to be.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The shopping cart with nothing in it has greater acceleration because it has less mass. This means less weight to push. And the full shopping cart would be harder to push.

  38. Newton's Second Law states that the accelaration on an object increases with an increased force and decreases with increased mass. Accelaration is the rate at which velocity changes with time. An empty shopping cart has less mass than a full shopping cart. The full shopping cart has more mass to push forward. The empty shopping cart has less mass so it is easier to push forward or any direction you are going.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The shopping cart full of items has more mass then the shopping cart with nothing in it. So the acceleration is greater with the shopping cart with no items because it is easier to push and has no mass inside of it. More mass means you need to have a greater push.

  40. Newton's second law says that an object increases with increased force and decreases with increased mass. The empty shopping cart would be easier to push because it has a greater acceleration. The more you put in the cart the greater the mass is going to be.

  41. The empty shopping cart has more acceleration than the full shopping cart because it has less mass. Less mass means less force needed to get more acceleration.

    ReplyDelete
  42. The empty cart will accelerate faster than the full cart because it has more mass than the empty cart. Newtons second law states that if force increaces accerlaction increaces, if mass increases than acceerlaction decreases.

    ReplyDelete
  43. This is because of the mass of the two objects. The empty shopping cart has less mass than the heavier shopping cart. This makes the empty shopping cart easier to push. Newton's second law states that the acceleration of an object increases with increased force and decreases with increased mass.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Sir Isaac Newton's 2nd Law states that the acceleration on a object increases with increased force and decreases with increased mass. This means that if you race ,with your friend, holding two buckets and one is filled with water and the other is not the race would be unfair. It is unfair because the one filled with water is heavier than the one without the water. Another example is that there are shopping carts and one is full and the other is empty. This is an example of Newton's 2nd law because the empty shopping cart has greater acceleration than the full shopping cart because the empty shopping cart has less mass than the full shopping cart which is most likely filled with many heavy things. The empty shopping cart is empty and the full one might have things like sodas, packs of water, watermelons, and other heavy stuff which has more mass than the empty shopping cart.

The empty shopping cart has a greater acceleration because it is less massive. A more massive cart will take more force.

  46. The empty shopping cart will accelerate and go farther than the full shopping cart, because Newton's Second Law says that an object with less mass will accelerate than an object with more mass.

  47. The empty shopping cart will have more acceleration because it has less mass. The shopping cart will be faster and easier to push than the full shopping cart because it has more mass and heavier items.

  48. The emty shopping cart has a greater acceeration than the full shopping cart because it is less massive. An object with more mass takes more force and an oject with less mass makes an object easier to move. This is an example of Newtons second Law.

  49. The reason the empty cart has a greater acceleration is because its less massive so it is easier to push because its easier to push it will go faster
